The White Wines of the Wagram Region
Grüner Veltliner
(Green Veltliner) The
traditional main white wine from our region: a light and
fruity wine with tastes ranging from dry to the more
powerful calibres, with an opulent taste of fruit and
the locally famous peppery tang.
Roter Veltliner (Red
Veltliner) Greenish-golden,
fruity-aromatic, with a fine spicy scent, moderately
dry. A regional specialty!
Frühroter Veltliner (Early Red Veltliner)
Golden-yellow. Strong to
mild, with low acidity, herbal. A regional speciality!
Weißburgunder (White Burgundy)
Substantial with a fine, almondy taste.
Piquantly tart.
Chardonnay With an aroma
of white bread and dried fruit. A wine rich in extracts,
which, with aging, also has a pleasant dryness.

Zweigelt
Lush, fruity, a distinct bouquet,
which becomes more fine and well-rounded with age.
Blauburgunder (Blue Burgundy)
Ruby red, fruity, slightly bitter-almondy
reminiscent of Burgundy, full and velvety.
St. Laurent
String, dark red colour. A bouquet of
fresh vistulas, dry, weathered, rich in extracts.
Cabernet Sauvignon
Pinkish-red to deep-red, with a typical bouquet of
blackcurrant berries. High acidity. |
